“A stunning red Kamdani kurta from our ?Exclusive Kamdani? collection. Dating back to the Mughal times, this embroidery originated in the capital of Uttar Pradesh i.e. Lucknow. It involves twisting thin metallic threads to create patterns all over the fabric. Initially developed for the royalty that resided in the city, it utilised precious metals like gold and silver to weave into the fabric. Kamdani work is a time and labour-intensive craft which is why there are now only a handful of kaarigars/artisans left who are adept at this type of artistry. Each piece in our collection is a fine specimen of the technical know-how of these artisans.
The kurta is handwoven in pure Chanderi and symbolises beauty in simplicity. The neckline and sleeve ends are adorned with our signature Kamdani tikki work that is elegant and gorgeous. Perfect to mix and match for various occassions. The neckline features a resham dori with handcrafted tassels and jaali work creating a sophisticated red beauty.
The entire kurta is underlined with soft cotton. Pair this kurta with our matching Kota dupatta and Chanderi palazzos for a complete look. Available in standard and made-to measure sizes.
