A black kurta adorned with charming Kamdani work from our ‘Exclusive Kamdani’ collection. Dating back to the Mughal times, this embroidery originated in the capital of Uttar Pradesh i.e. Lucknow. It involves twisting thin metallic threads to create patterns all over the fabric. Initially developed for the royalty that resided in the city, it utilised precious metals like gold and silver to weave into the fabric. Kamdani work is a time and labour-intensive craft which is why there are now only a handful of kaarigars/artisans left who are adept at this type of artistry. Each piece in our collection is a fine specimen of the technical know-how of these artisans.
With gorgeous Kamdani leaf motifs all over and Tikki work on the neckline and sleeve ends, this kurta in pure Chanderi symbolises beauty and sophistication. The neckline creates a graceful silhouette with the matching potli buttons and the kurta is finished with a fine gota lace.
The entire kurta is underlined with soft cotton. Pair this kurta with our matching Kota dupatta and Chanderi palazzo for a complete look. Available in standard and made-to measure sizes.
